I am an Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, who has been in practice for the past seven years. I received my undergraduate degree from Miami University and my Master’s Degree from Xavier University, and have lived in the Cincinnati area for over forty years. I have raised two daughters and run a small business over the past twenty years, before deciding to move more deeply into the helping professions, earning my clinical counseling degree.
The majority of my clinical experience lies in working with adolescents and college students, and in the past I have enjoyed several years of being an embedded mental health counselor at a local high school. In my clinical practice, I strive to give my clients practical and useful ideas to help them navigate stressful situations and create their best lives. I often pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology and Dialectical Behavior Therapy principles to my clients as tools to help along the way. However, I am not limited to those listed above. I utilize a variety of approaches to best fit the unique and specific needs of my clients.
The foundation of my practice is to offer a non judgmental space for my clients to work through troubling situations, while at the same time empowering them to make positive changes. I am an empathic listener who values connecting with my clients in a real and authentic way, building trust and mutual respect.
In my free time I enjoy playing outside, running, biking and kayaking. I have a spoiled rescue dog who enjoys adventuring with me whenever possible. I am a life-long learner who truly enjoys working with people.
